Room 100

Joseph Loy, IP Litigation Partner, Kirkland & Ellis LLP (NY) and Kristin Sheffield-Whitehead, Litigation Partner, Kirkland & Ellis LLP (SF) will give a presentation on the challenges that employers face in maintaining the secrecy of their intellectual property, particularly where there is fierce competition for talent that is less loyal to a single employer than prior generations. They will discuss the elements of trade secret protections, the recently enacted Defend Trade Secrets Act, which federalized trade secrets law, and some best practices to mitigate losing control over corporate assets. The presentation will examine these issues in the context of recent trade secret litigation.
