Teams with Berkeley Law students finished first and second at the annual Holland & Knight Joint Venture Challenge in Los Angeles, where graduate students negotiate real estate joint venture issues after receiving a hypothetical set of facts, issues list, associated letter of intent provisions, and background reading materials. During the competition, each team negotiates two separate real estate venture issues, with half the teams representing the investor and half representing the operating partner.
