Our Student Organization for Advanced Legal Studies (SOALS) held a recent event called Lawyering in the Age of AI, which focused on emerging tools, new skills, and the practical AI decisions attorneys and law firms now need to make. Two leaders working at the intersection of AI, law, and technology — law.MIT.edu and Civics.com founder Dazza Greenwood and attorney Damien Riehl, whose work includes integrating AI-backed technologies to improve legal workflows — discussed pressing considerations and took questions. The main group representing Berkeley Law’s LL.M. and J.S.D. students, SOALS plans issue-oriented events, social gatherings, networking functions, and charity fundraisers while forging connections between advanced degree students and the J.D. student body.
