Berkeley Law students can begin meaningful pro bono legal work as early as their first semester, and new students packed the recent Pro Bono Fair to explore the many possibilities. At the school’s annual Pro Bono Program event, leaders of more than 40 Student-Initiated Legal Services Projects shared their wide-ranging work, while Berkeley Law Alternative Service Trips leaders described opportunities to spend spring break helping legal services organizations assist people in need across the country. Berkeley Law students collectively provide more than 30,000 hours of pro bono service each year, gaining practical legal skills while serving communities near and far.
