Zero-emission hydrogen produced in California could help reduce carbon emissions and air pollution from aviation, and also support energy resilience. Exploring hydrogen’s broader role in aviation, our Center for Law, Energy & the Environment co-chaired an aviation working group with the San Francisco International Airport and the nonprofit Rocky Mountain Institute for a public-private partnership aimed at accelerating hydrogen projects on an industrial scale. The group’s new white paper sets a recommended path for the future of hydrogen in California’s aviation sector.
