Nicole Ozer ’03 received the Fearless Advocate Award from the American Constitution Society’s Bay Area Chapter and a California Senate Resolution commending her dedication to upholding civil liberties in the digital world, invaluable contributions to the people of California, and meritorious service to humanity. The ACLU in California’s founding technology and civil liberties director, Ozer led the passage of the landmark California Electronic Communications Privacy Act and Reader Privacy Act, developed the ACLU’s national online privacy campaign, and designed innovative local surveillance reform strategies now used nationwide.
