Wai Wai Nu, a 2018 graduate of our LL.M. Program, received this year’s City of Athens Democracy Award. A leading advocate for the Rohingya, long persecuted in Myanmar, Nu was a political prisoner there for seven years. She is the founder and executive director of the Women’s Peace Network, a diverse coalition that works to promote and protect human rights. See her acceptance speech here.
