3L Becca Goren was named Best Advocate and Berkeley Law placed second at the recent Tournament of Champions Trial Competition in Waco, Texas, which invites the nation’s top 16 trial advocacy programs. Teams argue both the prosecution and defense sides of a mock case at the prestigious event, performing opening and closing statements, examining witnesses, and filing motions based on the Federal Rules of Evidence and Criminal Procedure. Goren and 3L Dylan Hughes argued for the defense, 2Ls Daniel Seo and Ravi Patel argued for the prosecution, and alum Christopher Brown ’19 coached the team.
