Last summer, we are proud to have launched the first UC Berkeley Global Internship Program in Israel, a partnership between the Helen Diller Institute, UC Berkeley Study Abroad, and Yahel Israel. On June 20th, 17 students embarked on an eight-week experiential learning program in Haifa. The participants are working at nonprofits, public projects, and grassroots organizations in the fields of education, healthcare, women’s rights, immigration, and more. They are also participating in an on-site course on Israeli society and politics and the minority experience, taught by Institute-affiliated professor Rami Zeedan.
On this program, students are:
- Undertaking a service-learning internship in a social or business field of interest with an organization based in Israel
- Earn academic credit for the internship via a ten-week online course
- Learn about Israeli politics, society, and culture
Stay tuned for applications for summer 2024!
