Step-by-Step Guide: How to Donate to the Berkeley Law Criminal Law & Justice Center Fund

Online Donation Process

Step 1: Access the Donation Page and Add to Basket

1.  Go to the official donation link: https://give.berkeley.edu/fund/FN6450000?ac=132283
2. This will take you to the Berkeley Law Criminal Law & Justice Center Fund donation page.
3. Important: Click the “Add to Basket” button on the page.

Step 2:Navigate to the Gift Details Page

1. After clicking “Add to Basket,” you’ll need to click the blue button “Give Now”.
2. Then, you’ll be taken to the gift details page where you can proceed with your donation.

Step 3: Select Your Donation Amount and Frequency

1. On the “Gift Details” page, you’ll see “The Berkeley Law Criminal Law & Justice Center Fund” listed.
2. Enter your donation amount in the field provided.
3. Select your donation frequency:
   • One time: For a single donation
   • Recurring: For repeated donations 
4. If you select “Recurring,” you’ll need to specify:
   • How often?: Choose Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually
   • For how long?: Select either “Until I cancel” or “Until a specific date”
     • If you select “Until a specific date,” you’ll be prompted to enter that date
5. Check the box “This gift is in honor or in memory of someone” if applicable.
   • Note: This designation will apply to all funds you are supporting today.
6. Click “CONTINUE TO BILLING INFORMATION” to proceed to the next step.

Step 4: Complete Your Billing Information

1. Fill in your personal details:
   • Full name*
   • Optional checkboxes:
     • “I would like my gift to be anonymous”
     • “Do not credit my spouse or partner on this gift” (By default, gifts will be credited to your spouse or partner if they are known to UC Berkeley)
2. Enter your address information:
   • Street address*
   • City*
   • Country* (select from dropdown menu)
   • State* (for US addresses, select from dropdown menu)
   • ZIP/Postal Code*
3. Provide contact information:
   • Email address*
   • Phone number*
   • Phone type* (select Mobile, Home, or Work)
4. Matching gifts option:
   • Check the box “I work for a company that will match my gift” if applicable

*Required fields

The summary page will display:

• The fund you are donating to (Berkeley Law Criminal Law & Justice Center Fund)
• Your donation amount
• Frequency of donation (one-time or recurring)
• Grand-total amount

Carefully verify all information is correct before proceeding.

If you need to make changes:

• Click on “GIFT DETAILS” at the top of the summary page to return to the beginning
• Or use your browser’s back button to return to previous steps
• Note: There is no edit button directly on the summary page

When you’re satisfied with all the information, proceed to the payment step.

Step 5: Enter Payment Information

1. Select your payment method (card type)
2. Enter your payment details securely.
