Shruti Sarode is a Climate Change Research Fellow at the Center for Law, Energy, & the Environment (CLEE). Shruti’s research focuses on climate change policy, with an emphasis on the challenges of decarbonizing our transportation & energy systems and moving promising climate solutions to policy and scale. Prior to joining the CLEE team, Shruti worked at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources on the Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts, bringing scientists and practitioners together to foster climate solutions in Wisconsin.

Shruti was recognized as “Green Brain of the Year 2016” by Middle East Technical University in Turkey for her work on microalgal wastewater treatment and carbon dioxide sequestration. She has worked in India, Canada, China, Japan and the United States on various sustainability and climate research projects. Shruti holds a Masters in Environmental Conservation from University of Wisconsin-Madison, as a part of which, she worked with the Rainforest Alliance on Accountability Framework Initiative, to support the global effort to produce agricultural and forestry commodities while protecting forests, other ecosystems and human rights. Shruti also holds a Masters in Biotechnology & Biochemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. She is originally from India.
