Dec 8- 9
Paul Brest Hall, Munger Building

As always, you can count on the two days of in-depth discussions on patent law with panels of leading experts that you’ve come to expect at APLI. This year, however, we are debuting a new programming format for Day 2.

The Day 2 agenda will consist of two separate, custom-designed tracks:

Litigation and Prosecution

Each track will be held in a separate room, so you can attend sessions tailored to your practice and focus on content that is important to you. Sessions for each track will include:

Litigation Track

  • Litigation and speaking roles–PTAB & District Court practices (DEI)
  • Mediation, arbitration, and settlement strategies
  • Fintiv
  • Venue and intra-district assignments-impacts on litigation strategies and best practices
  • IP licensing and settlements; troublesome terms
  • Global litigation strategies and developments
  • Daubert and damages
  • Litigation ethics

Prosecution Track

  • Spec drafting and 101–a litigator’s plea to prosecutors
  • Filing strategies in light of EU unitary system
  • A litigator’s view of claim drafting
  • Key updates on U.S. patent prosecution techniques
  • EPO prosecution and management best practices
  • Prosecution conflicts (ethics)
  • Beyond IPRs, Appeal practice for prosecutors
  • Inventorship and inclusiveness; best and worst practices (DEI)

APLI is also honored to announce our Keynote Speaker:

We will also hear from former acting USPTO directors:
