Rachel Wallace (she/her) is a PhD student in Jurisprudence and Social Policy at UC Berkeley School of Law with a Designated Emphasis in Political Economy. She will concurrently pursue her JD from Stanford Law School starting in Fall 2026. Her research centers on bodily autonomy for incarcerated individuals, feminist theories of penal abolition, and the political economy of carceral punishment.
Previously, Rachel served as a clinical instructor at Berkeley Law’s Policy Advocacy Clinic, working to eliminate juvenile fees in the South and researching restitution and cash bail in California. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Notre Dame (Environmental Engineering and Philosophy) and a Master of Public Policy from UC Berkeley.
