This seminar (Law 291.A) is a co-requisite to the Environmental Law Clinic (295.5E). The seminar will complement work in the Clinic by providing environmental subject-matter background relevant to specific Clinic projects, training in practical lawyering skills necessary for success in these projects (such as brief writing and oral advocacy), and an opportunity for reflection on and discussion of Clinic projects. The seminar will feature a number of guest speakers and topical readings. The seminar seeks to train students in tactical analysis of environmental problems and solutions, so that they can begin to identify which among litigation, legislative, and/or policy strategies will be most effective in producing a desired environmental outcome.

The units for this course count towards the Experiential Requirement.
