This course will examine the laws of evidence, with special attention to the Federal Rules of Evidence (FRE). Topics will include relevance, hearsay, character evidence, expert witnesses, impeachment, and rehabilitation. The goal of the course is to give students the foundation necessary to determine whether, when, and why evidence is admissible in a trial, and to develop arguments for and against admissibility.
