The explosive #metoo global movement has elevated the conversation about gender equity, sexual harassment, and policies that advance working conditions for women. This course will examine current legal and policy debates on gender pay equity, sexual harassment, paid sick leave and paid family leave, scheduling issues, and intersectional race and gender equity for women of color in the workplace. Students in the three-unit seminar will be invited to participate in an additional one-unit practicum that allows them to work on current legal and policy efforts to advance conditions for women in the workplace, under the supervision of law and policy experts in the field.

Enrollment in #Metoo: Women & Work Law & Policy Seminar (Law 227.23) is required to participate in the practicum
