295.6A sec. 1 - Civil Field Placements (Fall 2014)

Units: 4-6

Civil Field Placements are the field placement component to the courses that accompany the field placement seminars/workshops. Students should see: for a description of the Field Placement Program including a list of approved placements or they may propose their own placements with non-profit or government agencies. Students receive credit based on legal work under the supervision of attorney when they do 4 hours/week over a 14 week semester and they are generally required to work 16 hours/week or 224 hours over the course of the semester. Civil Field Placements are graded on a Credit/No Credit basis. Students start and end dates are expected to track the academic calendar. Students complete a Field Placement Application available at:, and once it is approved, students will receive a course control number for the Placement and the required accompanying seminar/workshop. The Field Placement Director is available to assist students in identifying appropriate placements.
