This one-credit, optional lab section offers students the opportunity to develop core legal skills applicable to a wide range of legal practice. Specifically, students will use individual research”and the readings, lectures, and other materials from Prof. Jastram’s companion lecture course on Armed Conflict and International Law”to write two memoranda pertaining to different aspects and applications of international law to armed conflict. Class time will be largely collaborative”students will read and critique each other’s written work, as will the instructor. Students will also have the opportunity to polish one of these memoranda into a writing sample suitable for certain job applications.

261.5 Armed Conflict and International Law (Jastram). Must be enrolled concurrently.
