This seminar will present papers on public law by leading scholars from Berkeley Law and other schools. Topics this semester will focus on papers related to constitutional history and interpretation. Students are expected to read the papers in advance and to participate in a workshop with the author. Grade will be based on a final paper whose topic must be chosen in consultation with the instructors. The paper (20-25 pages) may be original research on constitutional text, structure, history, or interpretation, or it may be one or two critiques of workshop presentations. The paper may satisfy the writing requirement.
