The political battles will be raging, so the course will tackle relevant current events that unfold, and will touch upon the following areas, among others: state and federal budget strategies, and the values that undergird the differing philosophies; best practices from states and other countries for job creation; labor issues for the public and private sector; education and job training; how the rollout of the Affordable Care Act is faring in states across the country; democracy issues such as campaign finance and voter suppression; governing in politically divided government; and clean energy job creation in America.
** Please note this course will not meet the first week of instruction on 8/26. This course will meet in GSPP Room 250.
