Smith, S.E. “Disability and Reproductive Justice.” Reproductive Freedom Week 2013 (blog), March 2013. http://reproductivefreedomweek.org/2013/03/26/disability-and-reproductive-justice/.

Annotation

Smith discusses how many mainstream organizations and healthcare providers overlook the reproductive desires of those with disabilities. She explains that many women with disabilities have difficulty conceiving and maintaining their parental rights after being denied medical treatments or coercively sterilized on the grounds of disability.  Smith hopes this blog will bring awareness to this issue to ensure that women with disabilities are included in the reproductive rights movement so they can form the families of their choosing. This blog is particularly informative because it provides various links to websites, organizations, and articles to learn more about reproductive justice as it relates to disability justice.
