David S. Kemp earned his J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law in 2011, where he served as Senior Executive Editor of the California Law Review and co-Editor-in-Chief of the Berkeley Journal of African-American Law & Policy.
After law school, Kemp became the Managing Editor of Justia—an online platform that provides the community with free and open access to the law, legal information, and lawyers. Concurrently for two years, he worked part-time as an Adjunct Professor at UC Hastings College of the Law teaching courses on essay writing for the California Bar Exam. In 2018, Kemp left UC Hastings to join the faculty of Berkeley Law in the Legal, Research, Analysis and Writing Program. He continues to serve as the Managing Editor of Oyez, a free law project by Justia and the Legal Information Institute of Cornell Law.
