Naina Khanna is the director of policy and community organizing at Women Organized to Respond to Life-threatening Disease (WORLD) in Oakland, California. Ms. Khanna also coordinates the U.S. Positive Women’s Network (PWN), a national membership body of HIV-positive women, inclusive of transgender women, that advocates for policies and programs at local, state and national levels that reflect the needs of HIV positive women and families.  In addition, Ms. Khanna serves on the Coordinating Committee for the Coalition for a National AIDS Strategy, the Leadership Team for the National Women and AIDS Collective (NWAC), and was recently appointed to the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA). She has spoken and presented nationally and internationally about the critical role HIV-positive people and their advocates play in developing policies and programs that will meet community needs and help end the epidemic overall. Ms. Khanna was diagnosed with HIV in 2002.
