How Do I Access Resources After I Graduate?

Today, Right Now, and Before Graduation

  • Westlaw: To extend your subscription, follow the prompts on the Westlaw sign-in page to enroll in ‘Grad Elite.’ Grad Elite provides limited access to Westlaw, Practical Law, Drafting Assistant, and more, for 60 hours per month and 18 months following graduation. Downloads and printing through Grad Elite are capped at 600k lines of text.
  • Lexis+: Access continues automatically until December 31st, 2025.
  • Bloomberg Law: Students with a registered account will have access until November 30, 2025. If you have not activated your Bloomberg law profile, do so before graduation at https://profile.bloombergindustry.com/bloomberglaw-activate/.
  • CEB: Request a student account to maintain access for 18 months following graduation. Accounts can be set up using the law code BKX25 (before May 31) or BKX26 (after May 31) at https://research.ceb.com/register/academic.

Graduation and Beyond

Friday, May 16th, 2025

  • Happy Graduation! You did it!
  • Access to VPN software ends.
  • Registration for extended access to Westlaw and Bloomberg Law ends.

June 2025

Law Library Privileges and Software: Software licenses for Microsoft, Adobe, and Zoom Pro will expire a few weeks after graduation. To extend access to your other library privileges through August 2025, email circadmin@law.berkeley.edu. All other graduated accounts will be deleted at the end of June.

July 10, 2025

Lexis+ changes from student to graduate view: Students can choose a free product extension as a graduation gift.

August 2025

Computing Privileges: Your CalNet ID will allow library research access until mid- August. During that time you can access all campus databases, borrow from UC libraries, and print from your laptop or in the computer lab.

November 30, 2025

Access to Bloomberg Law ends.

December 31, 2026

Access to Westlaw Grad Elite and CEB ends.
