Scanning, Printing, and Microformats
Scan and Copy Services
To reach the scanning/printing room in the Berkeley Law Library, make a right from the library lobby and walk down the hallway. The scanning/printing room will be the only door on your left in that hallway. It is across the hall from the student computer lab. The scanning/printing room contains two of the law library's self-service scanning stations and printers.
The scan stations are touch-screen operated and allow you to scan both books and loose papers. The flatbed scanner can handle all manner of scanning materials, while the document scanner can do single- or double-sided scanning of any stack of standard-sized paper fed into it. You can use the touchscreen computer to save your scans to a USB key that you have brought from home, send the scans to yourself via email, or upload them to GoogleDocs.
The scan stations allow you to print out your scans in black and white (effectively making a photocopy of them) for a fee using the Cal1Card guest card system. Ask for a guest card at the Patron Services desk.
The microformats room is located on the lower level (LL2) of the library. Fiche and film can be scanned to PDF and saved to a USB key that you have brought from home, or they can printed for a fee using the Cal1Card guest card system.
