Lauren Broussard joined the Office of HIV/AIDS Policy (OHAP) in April 2008 and hascontributed to a variety of program and policy initiatives. Ms. Broussard has focusedon HIV education, prevention and linkage to care, including a two-year national socialmedia campaign to promote HIV testing, a Minority Serving Demonstration Initiative toenhance HIV services on college campuses; and the HHS Coordinating Committees onWomen’s Health and the Minority AIDS Initiative Fund Steering Committee to addresshealth disparities. Most recently, Ms. Broussard’s experience and energy have beenchanneled to a range of activities in support of the implementation of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy for which OHAP was given coordinating responsibility.

Prior to joining OHAP, Ms. Broussard completed a two-year rotating internship underthe auspices of the HHS Emerging Leader Program. Her rotations of 3-6 months includedthe Agency for Toxic Substance and Disease Registry, Health Resources and ServicesAdministration and the Office of HIV/AIDS Policy. This internship program providedMs. Broussard an opportunity to attend a variety of trainings and gain work experienceacross HHS agencies and offices.

Ms. Broussard obtained a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Health fromTulane University. She received her B.S. in Psychology from James Madison Universityin. Ms. Broussard also holds a graduate licensure to practice social work in the Districtof Columbia.
