As a first-year student at Berkeley Law, you can give trial advocacy a try by signing up for the Bales Trial Competition in the Spring. In this introductory competition, you will compete with a partner against other 1Ls as you try a case. It is a great way to become involved with the Board of Advocates and learn trial advocacy skills. You also can try out for the Board of Advocates Trial Team at the beginning of your 1L year. Team members compete against other law schools in civil and criminal mock trials. Learn more by clicking the boxes below!
