Muslim Law Students Association presents: What’s up with the torture paintings on the second floor?
Did the four large art pieces depicting torture outside the 2nd floor Reading Room ever catch your eye? Wonder what they’re about? Why they’re here? And where we, as students at Berkeley Law, fit into all this?
Join us as we hear from the faculty members who helped bring Botero’s paintings to Berkeley Law. We will learn about the significance of the paintings — and who they’re depicting, their history before Berkeley Law, and Berkeley Law’s unique (or maybe not so unique) connection to torture.
After the panel, we will gather in front of the paintings for a group witness readings.
Packaged lunch-to-go will be provided.

If you are unable to make it in-person, a Zoom link will be provided. Please see the RSVP form for more details.
