What Public Defenders Need to Know About Immigration Law

Tuesday, March 5, 2019 @ 12:50 pm - 2:00 pm

The Criminal Defense Society welcomes Genna Beier and Gabriella Rodezno, immigration attorneys at the San Francisco Public Defender, who will discuss the basics of immigration law that future PDs should know about. Genna and Gabriella will cover what kind of questions PDs should ask their clients and when PDs need to reach out to immigration attorneys.

Genna Beier serves the people of San Francisco as a deportation defense attorney in the Office of the San Francisco Public Defender. In her role, she has the privilege to fight alongside detained immigrants as they navigate a system designed to instill fear and uncertainty. Previously, Genna litigated removal cases and appeals as an associate attorney Van Der Hout, Brigagliano & Nightingale, LLP. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley School of Law and Pomona College. Together with Lizzie Lee and Elisse Larouche, she started the student organization Berkeley Immigration Group (BIG).
