UAW4811 Union Orientation

All law students are eligible to be members of the largest graduate student worker union in the country, UAW 4811. Over 100 J.D. students typically work in a union-covered position at any given point during the school year.
Last year, in our contract we were able to secure protections that impact all graduate students including: non-collaboration with ICE, SHIP& Baypass, legal defense fund for international students, and wage increases for all workers.
If you want to support your classmates (and, there’s a good chance: your future self), learn about labor law ~especially well~, or help build the labor movement, this is the place to be. Come join the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law (BJELL), the Berkeley Law and Organizing Collective (BLOC), and law student organizers for a quick introduction to the rights and opportunities available to you through UAW 4811. Lunch will be provided.
These events are open only to UC Berkeley Law students, faculty, and staff, unless otherwise noted.
