U.S. Army JAG Corps Info Session

Monday, September 23, 2019 @ 12:50 pm - 2:00 pm

Do you have an interest in the JAG Corps/Military Law? Tristan de Vega, CPT, JA, Appellate Attorney in the U.S. Army Legal Services Agency will be here for an info session on U.S. Army JAG Corps. Bring your lunch and questions.

**The CDO and Berkeley Law are strongly committed to the principle of equal opportunity for all persons and to respecting the gender identity of every student. The Trump Administration’s policy of excluding transgender people from military service is antithetical to our values as an institution and violates our non-discrimination policies. But for a federal law known as the Solomon Amendment requiring that we permit military recruitment on campus or face losing approximately $750 million in federal funding, the military would not be permitted to recruit here under our non-discrimination policy. The military’s participation in on-campus recruiting does not reflect acceptance of, or agreement with, the military’s discriminatory hiring practices against transgender people. We also recognize that not everyone who serves in the military agrees with the policy. **
