Trumped up Charges, or Just Desserts? Perspectives on the Trump Indictments

Tuesday, October 10, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

For the first time in U.S. history, a former President has been indicted. More than a former President, he’s a serious challenger to the incumbent in the next presidential election. Do the circumstances warrant special treatment of these charges? But if there’s probable cause of his guilt, why shouldn’t the law hold him accountable? Join the Public Law & Policy Program and the Federalist Society, Berkeley chapter, for a panel discussion with former federal prosecutor and professor William Otis, and former federal public defenders: Professors Andrea Roth and Charles Weisselberg of Berkeley Law. Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
