The FBI Called it Terrorism. A Jury Called it Not Guilty: A Conversation with Wayne Hsiung

Wednesday, April 23, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

The FBI Called it Terrorism. A Jury Called it Not Guilty: A Conversation with Wayne Hsiung. Wed. April 23 @ 1-2 pm, Room 140

In 2022, attorney and activity Wayne Hsiung faced felony charges and a terrorism investigation after rescuing two dying piglets from a factory farm. Representing himself in court, Hsiung used bold evidentiary strategies and a compelling legal narrative to win full acquittal—while helping catalyze the farm’s closure.

In this talk, Hsiung breaks down how he beat the FBI in court, what it means to defend activism through the law, and how open rescue is challenging the legal system from the inside out.

RSVP here for lunch!
