Students for Economic and Environmental Justice (SEEJ) First Meeting

Tuesday, September 10, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join Students for Economic and Environmental Justice (SEEJ) for our first meeting of the year!

Come to Room 134 this Tuesday, Sept. 10th at 1:00 PM to break bread (or pita) with other law students interested in environmental and economic justice. We will introduce ourselves, discuss actions we want to initiate and carry out, and, of course, eat (for free). Come with your appetite and ready to share your hopes and dreams for the year.

If you want to be more involved and help plan SEEJ’s activities this year, please contact us at seej.berkeleylaw@gmail.com.

SEEJ is an affinity group for law students interested in economic and environmental justice issues and advocacy. Committed to the equitable distribution of environmental and economic benefits and burdens, SEEJ investigates the strategic use of legal tools to strengthen grassroots organizing and build community power. SEEJ students are involved in a number of Student-Initiated Legal Services Projects the Environmental Law Clinic. We bring relevant practitioners and academics to speak at Berkeley Law, organize community-led “Grass Routes” tours of environmental justice hot spots to get students out into the community, and advocate for inclusion of Environmental Justice in Berkeley Law’s academic offerings.

*SEEJ does not charge dues, and has no minimum membership requirements.
