Recall & Resentencing: How You Can Help Decarcerate the State

Tuesday, March 3, 2020 @ 12:50 pm - 2:00 pm

Did you know that California superior court judges have broad discretionary powers to resentence incarcerated individuals in light of many factors not considered at the time of trial? Learn about the recent expansions of this recall & resentencing power, and how YOU can help decarcerate the state NOW by preventing the California Department of Corrections and “Rehabilitation” from excluding vast numbers of eligible persons from this process. Join Prisoner Advocacy Network (PAN) and the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) in welcoming legal consultant and community organizer Eliot Hosman for a special presentation and workshop in honor of NLG’s Week Against Mass Incarceration. Lunch will be provided.
