Event Navigation

During the Fall semester, Berkeley Law’s Queer Caucus hosted a Trans Town Hall for our trans and gender-diverse peers at Berkeley Law. A clear theme that emerged was the need for more intentional opportunities to meet, learn from, and build community with trans attorneys across a range of practice areas.
Students expressed a strong desire to better understand career pathways, professional sustainability, and what trans legal careers look like beyond law school—but, just as importantly, to build relationships with trans attorneys and feel less isolated as we all navigate an increasingly challenging legal and political climate. Opportunities for this kind of connection are currently limited, leaving many students to grapple with questions about workplace safety, long-term sustainability, and professional identity largely on their own. Creating dedicated spaces for connection with trans legal professionals feels especially important in light of this gap.
With that in mind, we are organizing a Trans Law Mixer on Feb 26, 6-7:30 pm in Berkeley, California, at Freehouse (details in the QR Code form on the flyer), bringing together Berkeley Law and broader Bay Area law students with trans attorneys.
These events are open only to UC Berkeley Law students, faculty, and staff, unless otherwise noted.
Events are wheelchair accessible. For disability-related accommodations, contact the organizer of the event. Advance notice is kindly requested.
