Prosecutor in Residence Series UC Berkeley Criminal Law and Justice Center

Featured Speaker: Kim Foxx Former Cook County State’s Attorney (2016-2024)

Tuesday, November 18, 2025 | 12:50 – 2:00 PM Room 170, Berkeley Law

Join us for an engaging discussion exploring how prosecutors at both state and federal levels play a critical role in criminal justice reform and public safety.

Kim Foxx served as the first Black woman to lead the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office – the second-largest prosecutor’s office in the country. She took office on December 1, 2016, with a vision for transforming the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office into a fairer, more forward-thinking agency focused on rebuilding public trust, promoting transparency, and being proactive in making all communities safe. She was elected to a second term in 2020.

This conversation will examine the evolving role of prosecutors in creating meaningful change within our justice system, drawing on Foxx’s groundbreaking leadership and reform initiatives during her eight years in office.

This event is part of our ongoing Prosecutor in Residence series, bringing together leading voices in criminal justice to foster dialogue on reform, accountability, and innovation in prosecution.

Lunch will be provided
