Post-Conviction Advocacy and Strategic Litigation with the Phillips Black Project

Thursday, January 21, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Come learn from Berkeley Law Lecturer John Mills about the work of the Phillips Black Project, and get a glimpse of this kind of work in action! Phillips Black represents clients in state post-conviction proceedings, litigates breakdowns of the capital post-conviction process in state and federal courts, and leads strategic litigation to safeguard the integrity of the criminal justice system in the imposition of its severest penalties. This info session will include a demonstration of how this work can look, and students will learn how they can get involved.
