Peter Andrews, Supervisor of Federal Litigation
Peter oversees the Philadelphia DAO’s responses to federal habeas petitions and brings unique experience from his previous role as a federal appellate prosecutor in Washington, D.C., where he worked on appeals from the January 6, 2021 Capitol assault. A Berkeley Law alumnus (2018), Peter will discuss his work on high-profile habeas cases, including the nationally-covered CJ Rice case, and share insights on the current state of the Department of Justice.

Rebecca McDonald, Assistant District Attorney, Conviction Integrity Unit
As a member of Philadelphia’s Conviction Integrity Unit, ADA McDonald investigates cases of actual innocence and wrongful conviction while supervising the CIU externship program. A graduate of Washington University School of Law (2020), Rebecca will share her experiences working to exonerate the wrongfully convicted and the critical work of conviction integrity units in modern prosecutorial reform.

This event offers a unique opportunity to hear from practitioners at the forefront of prosecutorial reform. Whether you’re interested in criminal law, justice reform, or prosecution careers, this discussion will provide valuable insights into the evolving landscape of criminal justice.
