The Public Interest Placement Committee reports to the dean on policies that would improve the public interest – public service employment opportunities of Berkeley Law students and recent graduates. In 2020-21 we will be examining (1) whether the problem of systemic racism reduces public interest career opportunities for students of color, and if so, how the law school can respond, and (2) whether there are elements of the law school experience that discourage students from pursuing public interest careers and, if so, how the law school can respond.

We are holding two open meetings to hear student views on these matters on Wednesday March 31 from 2:30-3:30 pm PST and Friday April 2 from 1:00-2:00 pm PST.
