Known Unknowns – The Zcash Protocol

Friday, March 9, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

The original conception of a blockchain was a public ledger that prevents counterfeiting by enabling users to trace assets back to their creation. But what if we could have truly private transactions – wherein we can prove that money hasn’t been created without revealing the sender, recipient, or amount of a transaction? With “zk-SNARKs”, we can! Come join Blockchain@BerkeleyLaw as we welcome Zooko Wilcox, the creator of the Zcash protocol, to discuss the legal, policy, and human rights implication of this fascinating technology!
