ICJ Judicial Fellowship: Infosession and Virtual Chat with Former Fellows

Wednesday, November 12, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join us for an exclusive virtual panel featuring three distinguished members of the 2024-2025 International Court of Justice Judicial Fellowship cohort as they share insights into one of the most prestigious and competitive opportunities in public international law.

Panelists:

  • Felix Aguettant (Berkeley Law, France) – 2024-2025 ICJ Judicial Fellow
  • Alaa Hachem (Yale Law School, Canada/Lebanon) – 2024-2025 ICJ Judicial Fellow
  • Yên Ba Vu (Harvard Law School, Vietnam) – 2024-2025 ICJ Judicial Fellow

The ICJ Judicial Fellowship Program is the premier clerkship opportunity for emerging public international law scholars and practitioners, attracting top candidates from leading law schools worldwide. Fellows work directly with judges at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, gaining unparalleled experience in international dispute resolution and judicial decision-making.

Our panelists will demystify the highly selective application process, discussing what the Court looks for in successful candidates and how to craft a compelling application. They’ll share their firsthand experiences clerking at the world’s principal judicial organ and offer practical advice for aspiring applicants.

Lucy Benz Rogers, Associate Director of Public Interest Programs at CDO, will provide a brief overview of how fellowship applications are reviewed internally at Berkeley Law and by the Miller Institute’s fellowship committee before being forwarded to the Court.

Whether you’re a 3L, LL.M. student, or simply interested in public international law careers, this session offers invaluable guidance from those who’ve successfully navigated this competitive process.

Please RSVP here.
