How to Tax the Rich with Professor Brian Galle

Monday, February 9, 2026 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Join Professor of Law Brian Galle as he discusses how taxation of the ultra-rich can address the problem of U.S. inequality. In his Roosevelt Institute monograph How to Tax the Rich, Galle proposes the Fair Share Tax (FAST)—a constitutional workaround that delivers wealth tax revenue without triggering Supreme Court challenges.

Please RSVP to attend the event. The discussion is hybrid (in-person and Zoom — Zoom link will be sent to those who RSVP), and will be followed by a reception with soft drinks and appetizers.

Discussant: Jacob Goldin, Richard M. Lipton Professor of Tax Law, University of Chicago
Moderator: Emmanuel Saez, Professor of Economics and Director, Stone Center on Wealth and Income Inequality
