Event Navigation

Please join the Health and Life Sciences Law Society (HaLS) and Disability Justice Coalition (DJC) on Tuesday, March 10th, from 1-2 pm in Room 170.
“This event brings together Professors Osagie Obasogie and Jonathan Simon to examine how eugenic logic persists within modern health law, biotechnology, and the American carceral state. The discussion will trace the transition of eugenic thought from historical sterilization programs to contemporary “risk-based” policing and genomic selection, revealing how legacy ideologies of “fitness” still govern law and medicine. This event is Co-Sponsored by the Health and Life Sciences Law Society (HaLS), the Berkeley Life Sciences Law & Policy Center, and the Criminal Law & Justice Center.”
Please RSVP here by EOD Sunday, March 8th, 2026. Lunch will be provided.
These events are open only to UC Berkeley Law students, faculty, and staff, unless otherwise noted.
