Event Navigation
Law students are invited to join us for an information session for a Spring 2027 course: The Berkeley Security and Resilience Accelerator. Also known as Hacking for Defense, the course is designed to provide students the opportunity to learn how to work with Defense, Intelligence, and state/local public safety agencies to better address the nation’s emerging threats and security challenges. This course provides a platform that can develop prototypes that match national security and Defense users’ needs over the course of a semester. In this class, student teams may either select from an existing set of problems provided by the USIC/DoW/state/local partners, or introduce their own ideas, so long as a government sponsor agrees to sponsor the problem.
The teaching team includes Professor Janet Napolitano (former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security), Jeff Fields (FBI), Professor Oguzhan Aygoren (Haas), Professor Chris Hoofnagle (Law), and Brian Alexander Morales (GSPP).
These events are open only to UC Berkeley Law students, faculty, and staff, unless otherwise noted.
Events are wheelchair accessible. For disability-related accommodations, contact the organizer of the event. Advance notice is kindly requested.
