Event Navigation
Are you interested in pro bono opportunities in Big Law, but not sure what’s out there? Ethan Dettmer and Shaley Jain of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher will be presenting on immigration-related pro bono work that they have engaged in at their firm. Both Mr. Dettmer and Ms. Jain have been recognized for their work in representing Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, cities, counties, the UC system and states in Garcia v. USA, a case which challenged Trump’s revocation of DACA. Gibson Dunn is a signatory in the Pro Bono Institute’s Pro Bono Challenge, and in 2016, Gibson’s U.S. lawyers completed an average of 127 pro bono hours. Please join us to learn about Mr. Dettmer and Ms. Jain’s experiences and how you can find pro bono opportunities at a big law firm! Lunch (Homeroom!!!) will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Vegan/GF options will be available. This event is co-sponsored by BIG & WoBL.
Events are wheelchair accessible. For disability-related accommodations, contact the organizer of the event. Advance notice is kindly requested.
