Gary Younge in Conversation with Professor Jonathan Simon

Gary Younge, Professor of Sociology at University of Manchester and formerly editor of The Guardian newspaper, will share his observations on race and violence in America from a British perspective. Professor Younge’s most recent prizewinning book, Another Day in the Death of America: A Chronicle of Ten Short Lives (2016), is about all the children and teens shot dead in one day in the United States. His other books include: The Speech: The Story Behind Martin Luther King’s Dream (2013), Stranger in a Strange Land: Travels in the Disunited States (2006), and No Place Like Home: A Black Briton’s Journey Through the Deep South (2002).

Professor Younge will be in conversation with Berkeley Law’s Jonathan Simon. Lunch will be provided.

This event is sponsored by the Jefferson Memorial Lecture in cooperation by the Center for the Study of Law and Society.
