On Tuesday, July 21, at 10:00am pacific, CLJC’s staff attorney, Rio Scharf, will be speaking on a panel hosted by The Marshall Project about the dangers of extreme heat in prisons, jails, and ICE detention centers. Rio will be speaking about CLJC’s investigation into extreme heat in California county jails and the Center’s broader work mapping litigation and research nationally. Rio will be joined by a terrific panel:
- Maurice Chammah (The Marshall Project)
- Dr. Ufuoma Ovienmhada (University of Arizona)
- Dr. Susi Vassallo (NYU Langone),
- Ivy Scott (The Marshall Project).
