El Equipo: A Screening and Panel Discussion on the Argentine Forensic Team’s Crusade to Unearth the Forcibly Disappeared
Tuesday, March 21, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Event Navigation

In 1984, a meeting between a group of Argentine students, legendary forensic scientist Dr. Clyde Snow, and human rights investigator Eric Stover would change the course of history. El Equipo follows the Argentine Forensic Anthropology Team as they unearth the victims of Argentina’s “Dirty War,” leading to convictions of dozens of perpetrators in and out of government. They have gone on to investigate high-profile cases like the 2014 case of the missing 43 students in Iguala, Mexico, and have trained hundreds of investigators around the world. The screening will be followed by a Q&A panel with director Bernardo Ruiz and founding Team member Mimi Doretti, moderated by filmmaker Andrés Cediel of the Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism. Sponsored by the Human Rights Center with cosponsorship from the Center for Latin American Studies and the Graduate School of Journalism.
