The Berkeley Law community is invited to a panel talk, “Disappeared in Plain Sight: Fighting Gender Apartheid in Afghanistan as a Crime Against Humanity.” The Taliban regime has systematically removed women from public life since its return to power in 2021. Afghan women and their allies are fighting erasure, including through international law. Hear how human rights groups are leading the legal initiative to codify the crime of gender apartheid in a new UN Crimes Against Humanity Treaty.
